THE GUINNESS STOREHOUSE TEAMS UP WITH AUNGIER DANGER FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY
Celebrating St. Patrick’s the Guinness Storehouse and Aungier Danger have created a donut to perfectly pair with Guinness Draught
15 March 2017: Kick-starting the 2017 St. Patrick’s festivities, the Guinness Storehouse has teamed up with Dublin’s trendiest bakery, Aungier Danger to create a unique and tasty donut perfectly paired with Guinness Draught. The donut is available exclusively at the Guinness Storehouse on 17 March 2017 as part of the Guinness Storehouse 2017 St. Patrick’s Festival.
The collaboration marries the bold flavours of Guinness with a dark cocoa donut, filled with a moreish Belgian chocolate mousse to perfectly compliment the malty sweetness and roast character of the beer. A smooth homemade blackcurrant glaze, drizzled on top delivers a balance of sweetness and distinctive bitterness which mirrors the flavor of hops found in Guinness Draught.
The bold pairing is the result of a collaboration between the Guinness Storehouse Beer Specialist team, a specially trained team of beer connoisseurs, and Phil Costello, founder of Aungier Danger.
The partnership is part of the Guinness Storehouse 2017 St. Patrick’s Festival. Celebrating its eleventh year, the four day festival kicks off on Thursday, 16 March 2017 and runs to Sunday, 19 March 2017. Embracing the fun of St Patrick’s Day all Patricks, Patricias, Paddys, Pedros and Podges, or variants of the name, will receive complimentary admission on March 17th, an annual tradition at the Guinness Storehouse.
Announcing the festival programme, Paul Carty, Managing Director, Guinness Storehouse said, “The St. Patrick’s Day Festival at the Guinness Storehouse once again has an amazing line-up of entertainment and unique experiences. Guinness, the iconic black and white stout, has an intrinsic link to St. Patrick’s Day. Both are steeped in heritage and capture the true spirit of the day, celebration, pride and friendship – and what better place to celebrate our national holiday, than here at the Guinness Storehouse where you’ll enjoy a series of contemporary Irish experiences including Guinness and food pairings specially created for the celebrations and performances by a number of popular Irish musicians including The Eskies and DJ Mo Kelly.”
Sports fans will also be invited to cheer on the Irish during the highly anticipated RBS 6 Nations clash between Ireland and England, which will be screened on Friday, 17th March at 5pm in the Guinness Storehouse Rugby Hub.
Open from 9.30am-7.00pm, the 2017 St Patrick’s Festival programme includes a diverse and colourful line-up to entertain, all included in the admission price. To purchase tickets and for further details of The Guinness Storehouse St. Patrick’s Festival visit www.guinness-storehouse.com.
