SENSORY FRIENDLY HOURS

The Guinness Storehouse is proud to be accredited by Ireland’s national autism charity, AsIAm , as a certified autism-friendly attraction. Our staff have been trained how to best cater to customers with autism or other neurodivergencies, and we offer sensory kits including ear plugs at our reception area, along with Sensory Maps and a visual guide to the building. We also offer Sensory Friendly Hours once-monthly.

GETTING HERE

We’re accessible by foot, bike, public transport and more in the historic Liberties area of Dublin.

DIRECTIONS

On Foot 

Because the Guinness Storehouse is located so close to Dublin City Centre, many visitors walk to St. James’s Gate. We are a twenty-minute walk from College Green.  

  • Start your walk from College Green by heading west down Dame Street. 
  • Follow the road until you pass Christ Church Cathedral on your right. 
  • Continue down Thomas Street, then turn left onto Crane Street. 
  • At the end of Crane Street, turn right onto Bellevue. 
  • Continue onto Market Street and the Guinness Storehouse is on your right. 

By Bicycle  

Cycling is a lovely way to see the historic sights of Dublin as you make your way to the Storehouse for your Guinness experience. Bring your own bike or hire one from Dublin Bikes. We are a 10-minute cycle from College Green.  

  • Start your cycle from College Green by heading west down Dame Street. 
  • Follow the road until you pass Christ Church Cathedral on your right. 
  • Continue down Thomas Street until you reach the Guinness brewery entrance at St. James’s Gate. 
  • Turn left up Crane Street where you can get a photo in front of the famous Guinness gates! You can leave your bike in our secure bike area which is situated in the free car park on Crane Street. If you hire from Dublin Bikes, there is a station at Market Street South, near the front entrance. 

By Tram 

The LUAS is Dublin’s tram system and is a handy way to hop on and off and see the city sights – like a local! If you are using the LUAS to visit us at the Guinness Storehouse, you need to take the Red Line from Dublin city centre in the direction of Tallaght and hop off at the James’s Luas stop. The Guinness experience is just a seven-minute walk from the James’s Luas stop.  

  • After hopping off, head back along the track and turn right onto James’s Street. 
  • Turn right onto Basin Street Lower and continue to the end of the street. 
  • Turn left onto Basin View and then left onto St. James’s Avenue. 
  • Walk to the end of St. James’s Avenue and follow the loop in the road until you see the old Guinness brewery building. 
  • Go past the gates and turn left onto Market Street South where you will find the entrance to the Guinness Storehouse on your left.    

By Bus  

Travelling to the Guinness Storehouse by Dublin Bus is quick, easy and the service is frequent. The number of the bus will be located at the bus stop and on the front of the bus. We are a 10-minute bus ride from O’Connell Street.  

Take Number 123 from O’Connell Street or Dame Street (direction Walkinstown) and get off the bus on James’s Street. Ask the bus driver and they’ll give you a shout when it’s your stop. 

Once you get off the bus, walk to your left and at the end of the street, you will see signs pointing you to the Storehouse where your Guinness experience in Dublin awaits. 

The Guinness Storehouse is also a stop on Hop-on Hop-off services operating in Dublin. There is a drop-off and pick-up stop located at our entrance.

By Train  

Dublin’s two main train stations are Dublin Connolly and Dublin Heuston.  

From Heuston, you can grab a taxi (10 minutes) or the LUAS tram (12 minutes). Check ‘By Tram’ above for details on how to get here from the LUAS. If you are walking from Heuston, it will take around 15 minutes.  

If walking:

  • Head north and turn right on Victoria Quay and continue for half a kilometre until you turn right onto Watling Street. Turn left onto James Street and then right onto Crane Street. 
  • At the end of Crane Street, turn right onto Bellevue. 
  • Continue onto Market Street and The Guinness Storehouse is on your right. 

From Connolly, you can jump in a taxi (30 minutes) or the LUAS tram (25 minutes). Check ‘By Tram’ above for details on how to get here from the LUAS. If you are walking from Connolly, it will take around 40 minutes. 

By Car 

You can drive to the Guinness Storehouse where there is a limited amount of free parking available on Crane Street. Please note that parking on Market Street is reserved for coaches. We are a 20-minute drive from College Green.    

  • Start from College Green by heading west down Dame Street. 
  • Follow the road until you pass Christ Church Cathedral on your right. 
  • Continue down Thomas Street until you reach the Guinness brewery entrance at St. James’s Gate. 
  • Turn left onto Echlin Street and then left onto Grand Canal Place, which becomes Pim Street 
  • Turn left onto Market Street and The Guinness Storehouse is on your left. 
  • Take the next left for our free carpark, which is operated on a first come, first served basis.    

By Taxi 

All Dublin taxi drivers know how to get to the Guinness Storehouse and will drop you right at the door. You can hail a taxi on the street, jump in one at one of the many ranks around the city or use the FREE NOW or Uber Apps to book your taxi.

OPENING HOURS

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 9.30am to 6pm and Sunday 9.30am to 5pm. Opening hours are subject to change.

The Guinness Storehouse is a short distance from Dublin city centre by walking, cycling or taking a Dublin Bus or the Luas (tram).
