The Guinness Storehouse, the Home of Guinness and Ireland’s number one international visitor attraction, yesterday celebrated its 15th anniversary. Since opening its doors in 2000, the Guinness Storehouse, a seven-storey treasure trove of all things Guinness, has welcomed almost 14 million visitors.
As well as being Ireland's top tourist attraction, the Guinness Storehouse, housed in the Guinness brewery, was named Europe's Leading Attraction at the 2015 World Travel Awards, dubbed ‘the Oscars of the travel industry’.

Commenting on the 15th anniversary, Managing Director Paul Carty said: “No visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. People from all over the world have been enjoying this iconic brand attraction for 15 fantastic years and we’re thrilled to have been named the Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the same year we celebrate this special anniversary. Located in the heart of the legendary St. James’s Gate Guinness Brewery in Dublin, the production site has been home to the brewery since 1759, when Arthur Guinness signed a lease for 9,000 years.
The story of GUINNESS® is told in the Guinness factory tour at the Guinness Storehouse across seven floors shaped around a giant pint glass – the largest in the world – which if filled would hold 14.3 million pints of the black stuff.
Here, visitors discover everything about Guinness: from the unique brewing process, to the barrelling and distribution operation that enables 10 million glasses of Guinness to be enjoyed around the world every day in over 150 countries.
The newly opened advertising exhibit displays models of the well-loved ‘Toucan’ that first appeared in 1935, as well as a digital surround sound room projecting the brand’s iconic television adverts of recent years.
Guinness Storehouse: taste the black stuff
Guests are invited to enjoy a multisensory experience of being in the Guinness brewery in the Tasting Room, with experts on hand to explain what makes its colour and flavour so distinctive. Guests can also sample the four main Guinness variants — Guinness Draught, Original, Foreign Extra Stout, and Black Lager.
The attraction even has a Guinness Academy where visitors learn the six steps to pulling the perfect pint of Guinness.
A highlight of any visit to the Guinness Storehouse is the Gravity Bar, the highest bar in Dublin, where guests can savour a complimentary pint of Guinness while enjoying 360-degree views over the city.
All adult tickets include a complimentary pint of Guinness (with a valid ID). Under 18s will receive a complimentary soft drink.
