Why Take The Guinness Connoisseur Experience?
Guinness Draught is commonly referred to as the ‘black stuff’, but did you know it’s actually ruby red?
The ruby red stout gets its hue from the way the malted barely is roasted during the brewing process.
It’s a little-known fact that wouldn’t be clear to the untrained eye. But to a Guinness Beer Specialist (some of whom are certified beer sommeliers), it’s one of the many details they dive into during this intimate tasting at the Connoisseur Bar.
Not only do the Guinness Beer Specialists know the brand but by the end of your session, they get to know a little about you. With a warm introduction for the whole room, any idea that you’re on the Connoisseur Experience with strangers is quickly forgotten.
Just as in a wine or whiskey tasting, the Guinness Beer Specialist walks you through the history of the four beers on your tasting paddle (AKA your wooden tasting tray) and how to properly enjoy them to recognise the unique aroma and flavours each one has. Learn what food each Guinness beer pairs with and why, as well as the different types of Guinness sold around the world and why it’s brewed for that particular region.
Before the end of your experience, you’ll learn how to pour a Guinness following the legendary six-step ritual, counting the 119.5 seconds it takes to pour your pint of Guinness.
If you have a love for beer and Guinness, this is a can’t-miss experience.
