What’s Going on in Dublin for St. Patrick’s Week 2026?

St. Patrick’s Festival in Dublin is the most celebratory time of the year, with non-stop spectacle and entertainment throughout the week. Everyone who wants to visit Ireland should experience it once in their lives (though after you do, you’ll likely want to come back every year!) What used to be a one-day parade has blossomed into a full week of festivities across the capital city: a joyful, creative, and utterly Irish celebration that flows through every street, stage, and pub, showcasing the best of our creativity, ingenuity, artistry, passion and performance.

If you’re thinking of visiting Dublin for St. Patrick’s week 2026, the festival promises to have something for everyone — from the energy of the parade and performers to the unforgettable atmosphere at the Guinness Storehouse. Here’s what you can expect around the city, and a guide to some of the best things to do in Dublin for St. Patrick's Day, as well as what’s going on here at the Storehouse.

The Festival

The city will come alive from March 11th to 18th, with the core festival programme running from the 14th to 17th. The theme of this year's festival is “Roots”, and so, across the festival week, Dublin will come to life with live music, theatre, art and creativity that celebrate the living roots of our culture and community.

Enjoy big events like the Ceili Mor in Merrion Square and, of course, the parade (which we will get to shortly), or you can potter around enjoying smaller and more niche Dublin attractions which tend to run their own events throughout the week, as well as various workshops, storytelling and poetry performances, facepainting and entertainment for all ages.

Street performers and trad musicians will, as always, fill Grafton Street, Temple Bar and streets all over Dublin with the beat of the bodhran and other music. Whatever kind of cultural event you want to explore, you’ll find a superb and diverse programme of ticketed events taking place across the festival, from intimate gigs in small pubs to open-air performances near Dublin’s top attractions, and cultural talks and workshops in Dublin’s museums and galleries.

The Parade

As always, the centrepiece of the week and the festival is Dublin’s famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which takes place on March 17th. Parades are held on St Patrick’s Day all over the country and the world, but the Dublin parade is one of the best. Expect sounds, sequins and spectacle as dancers, performers, and musicians fill the streets from Parnell Square all the way to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The parade, as always, brings together dancers, actors, musicians, local community groups, international performers, and some of Ireland’s top pageantry and performance – all telling stories that celebrate our roots, and the spirit of Ireland and its people.

The Guinness Storehouse – From where the Celebration Flows

No trip to Dublin would be complete without stepping through St. James’s Gate for a tour at the Guinness Storehouse. But during St Patrick’s week, we have an extra special line up of events and celebrations, with our own festival running from the 11th of March up to St Patrick’s Day on the 17th, finishing up with a final day of festivities on the 18th.

The Guinness Storehouse has long been a place where history lives and culture thrives, taking our story from Dublin to across the world with every visitor who walks through the iconic gates. With that in mind...

Live Music and Art

From March 13th to 17th, the Arrol Suite will host headline performances from an incredible lineup of Irish artists including The Bonny Men, Niamh McCrystal, DUG, Lyra, and The Railway Boys.

Each evening will bring a different energy from Irish talent, with vibes that vary from traditional Irish tunes to Lyra’s mind-blowingly powerful pop vocals, all set against the sight and the stories of the Storehouse.

The Storehouse itself will be transformed for the festival too, with Dublin artist Claire Prouvost’s bold and colourful illustrations spilling from the walls into the surrounding streets in vibrant murals. Inside, new illustrations by Conor Nolan will help our visitors find their way around the buildings and the Dublin brewery tour, and artist Fuchsia MacAree will celebrate the people and moments that shape Guinness in our Academy bar with murals celebrating our famous 6-part pour.

Discover the World of Irish Whiskey

For whiskey enthusiasts, a visit to Roe & Co. Distillery is a must. Located in the Liberties, this fully operational distillery stands on the site of the old Guinness Power Station and pays tribute to a legendary Irish whiskey-maker whose distillery was once the biggest in the country.

Your visit will take you on a comprehensive tour of whiskey-making, from distilling to blending. Choose from experiences like a cocktail-making workshop or a whiskey blending session, where you can craft your own unique blend. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the day while deepening your appreciation for Ireland’s rich whiskey heritage.

Whether you want to experience one of the world’s best brewery tours during one of its best weeks, you’re looking for great things to do in Dublin for groups during St. Patrick's week, or you just want the best rooftop bar Dublin has to offer, The Storehouse has got it all going on from the 11th-18th March.

We hope to see you there!
